Underdog tag no worry for Kelly Schweida
Trainer Kelly Schweida doesn’t mind going into the rich Magic Millions day as an underdog as he has plenty of experience with upset wins.
Schweida will have Cellargirl in the Magic Millions Two-Year-Old Classic and Miss Cover Girl in the Magic Millions QTIS Open.
While both will be at double-figure odds Schweida is taking matters in his usual low-key style.
He has already tasted success on Magic Millions day with Plain Magic who won the 2010 fillies and mares race.
Schweida’s two biggest wins with Miss Cover Girl and Nova Star in the Group One Tatts Tiara were when the mares were at double figure odds.
Nova Star was also at good odds when she won the QTC Cup and Queensland Guineas.
Cellargirl was once ruling Magic Millions favourite after overcoming bad luck to win her first start at Eagle Farm.
However, she has drifted to $31 after being beaten six lengths by Millions second favourite Houtzen at Doomben at her second race start.

Schweida said the run could be deceptive and Cellargirl was still learning her trade.
“She got a mile back and she had no chance of catching the winner. I really don’t know why but we have put a visor on her for the first time,” Schweida said.
Cellargirl is assured of at least a $35,000 pay day.
She is owned by an all-women syndicate, including the late jockey Tim Bell’s partner Heidi, meaning she is eligible for a share in a $500,000 bonus scheme.
The first four horses owned by women to cross the line will get a share of the bonus.
There are only four eligible horses in the field and the least Cellargirl can earn is $25,000 and a $10,000 rebate for all runners.
Meanwhile, Miss Cover Girl has continued her run with bad barriers drawing 17 in the Magic Millions QTIS Open.
“Also I just hope the track isn’t too hard for her,” Schweida said.
He has pinpointed Millions day as Miss Cover Girl’s grand final this campaign but he had her entered for three races before selecting the QTIS race.
