The Gold Coast Titans will host the Manly Sea Eagles to close out Round 22 of the NRL season at CBUS Super Stadium this Sunday.
The home team can still get off the bottom of a ladder with a win, while the Sea Eagles are at last-chance saloon when it comes to pushing for a finals berth.
The Titans need to forget everything that has happened in their first 20 games of the season. Forget the fact they’ve lost 17 games and only luck has stopped them from losing all 20. Wipe it from the ether.
Nothing is more important to the immediate future of this club than getting out of the wooden spoon position.
They get the chance at home up against a side that has let controversy reign over its finals push.
In the weeks to come, the Titans will also get a home game against Newcastle and then they can finish up against the Warriors. There is a path to them getting off the bottom of the ladder, especially as the Tigers run out of key troops due to injury.
Their record might not be good at home to the Sea Eagles, having lost five of their last six matches against them at CBUS Super Stadium, but there will be punters who will want to get in on the 1-12 margin at $3.70 with Marantelli Bet.

Call us crazy, but the law of averages suggests the Titans are due for a win at some point, and now they face a club that appears to be vulnerable.
Brian Kelly at $3.35 is a good value selection in the anytime tryscoring market for the home side up against his former club.
Manly in recent weeks have been surrounded by controversy. Rightly or wrongly, it’s just the way their season has unfolded.
They looked to be heading towards a finals berth a month ago, but they’ve lost three in a row at the worst possible time.
On paper they’ve been able to field a decent side that still has plenty of strike weapons, and on a sunny Gold Coast afternoon, they should feel like they have enough points in them to get past a terrible Titans team.
At different stages in 2022 they’ve been able to put together good defensive performances, so against a team scoring just 15 per game in 2022, Manly would have to feel as though they can build some confidence and get back to their best.
Their best anytime tryscorer option this week feels like Haumole Olakau’atu. He opposes Beau Fermor, who has a tendency to get lost at different stages in defence, so Daly Cherry-Evans will hunt him out with either a nice short pass or a grubber behind the line.
The 13+ margin at $2.70 is the favoured option, but Manly haven’t been ruthless enough in some time to garner that respect, so look toward the 1-12 option.
Key matchup: Beau Fermor vs Haumole Olakau’atu
Both of these guys are strike weapons for their respective clubs, whether it be those men themselves doing the damage or acting as decoys. Expect both to cross the line.
Titans vs Sea Eagles betting predictions
