Round nine of the 2024 NRL Premiership continues on the Gold Coast this Saturday with the Titans hosting a red-hot Melbourne Storm side at CBUS Super Stadium.

Gold Coast secured their first win of the season against the Warriors in New Zealand to kick off ANZAC Round. The club no longer sits last on the NRL ladder and will be hoping to build on that winning form in front of its home fans.

In round eight, the Storm demolished the Rabbitohs in Melbourne to secure their fourth win in a row and solidify their position in second place.

Gold Coast Titans coach Des Hasler has named Phillip Sami (ankle) and Harley Smith-Shield (abdomen) to return from injury, with Alofiana Khan-Pereira and Aaron Schoupp dropping to the reserves as a result. Joe Stimson replaces Moeaki Fotuaika (concussion) in the starting side, while Keenan Palasia has been added to the reserves list and could be a late addition to the starting side.

Melbourne Storm coach Craig Bellamy has also made changes to his side, naming Tyran Wishart to start on the wing in place of the injured Xavier Coates (hamstring) with Bronson Garlick being added to the bench.

The poor form of the Titans has ensured short early odds for the Storm, who will be expected to start as strong favourites with the top Australian bookmakers.

The Storm have beaten the Titans in four of their last five matches, also winning each of their last 10 games when favourites. The Titans have failed to beat a top-four side in the NRL since round 17 last year, and they’ve failed to cover the line in each of their last five clashes with the Storm. Expect another strong performance from Melbourne as they go on to win by 13 or more points ($1.75).

Neither of these teams have found it difficult to score points in recent times. The Titans have scored at least 22 points in three of their last five games, while the Storm put on 54 against the Rabbitohs on ANZAC Day. CBUS Super Stadium is one of the best scoring grounds in the NRL, with five of the last six games between these clubs exceeding the total points line. Expect another high-scoring match with over 45.5 points scored ($1.87).

Melbourne five-eighth Cameron Munster returned from a mysterious groin injury last week and did so with a bang. The Storm superstar scored a try from a line break and nine tackle breaks in 127 running metres. He has scored a try in each of his last four matches at CBUS Super Stadium and should add another in this clash ($3.60).
