Super Saturday football for NRL Magic Round in Brisbane kicks off with a clash between the resurgent Newcastle Knights and a battling Gold Coast Titans outfit.

The Knights sit in 10th place on the NRL ladder having won three matches in a row since losing superstar captain Kalyn Ponga. That streak includes a victory over the Dolphins at this ground in round nine.

Meanwhile, the Titans are second-last on the ladder despite winning two of their last three matches. They beat the Warriors in New Zealand back in round nine, lost a close one to the Storm a week later, and then downed the Cowboys in a thrilling Queensland derby in round 10.

The Titans have been smashed by injuries, with AJ Brimson (groin), Harley Smith-Shields (pectoral), Kieran Foran (hamstring) and Phillip Sami (hamstring) all out.

Coach Des Hasler has named Keano Kini to start at fullback, with Alofiana Khan-Pereria on the wing and Aaron Schoupp in the centres. Chris Randall stays on at five-eighth, with Sam Verrills at halfback and Erin Clarke at hooker. Klese Haas is named to start at lock, with Keenan Palasia and Joe Stimson being added to the bench.

The Knights will be without Tyson Gamble (foot) and Daniel Saifiti (suspension). Jack Cogger is named to start at five-eighth, with Jacob Saifiti replacing brother Daniel.

Titans v Knights Magic Round betting picks
