Super Saturday NRL action wraps up on the Gold Coast with the Titans hosting the Brisbane Broncos at Cbus Super Stadium. The Broncos will be keen to bounce back from their round six loss to the Raiders, while the Titans will be looking for their second-straight win at home.
The Broncos have been forced to make one change ahead of their trip down the M1, with Kobe Hetherington returning from a bicep injury to replace Thomas Flegler, who suffered a concussion against the Raiders. The Gold Coast Titans have received an enormous boost with star off-season signing Kieran Foran being named to start in the halves, with Toby Sexton making way for the veteran’s return from injury.
The Broncos have won 23 of their 33 matches against the Titans, including the last two by a combined total of 51 points to 36. While the Titans have made improvements on the field in the last 12 months, which was made evident in their round 12 meeting in 2022, the Broncos continue to hold ‘big brother’ status over their intrastate rivals.
The Titans are still missing key players AJ Brimson, Beau Fermor and Sam Verrills, which will only make Saturday’s match more difficult. Look for the Broncos to put on a commanding performance in response to their first loss of the season by beating the Titans by 13+ points, which is paying $2.18 with Marantelli Bet.

Selwyn Cobbo has scored a try in each of his last four matches for the Broncos while missing out on opportunities to score more. On Saturday Cobbo will be taking on the smaller, shorter rookie Alofiana Khan-Pereira. The Titans winger missed four tackles against the Dragons in round six, the most he has missed in a single game this season.
If Khan-Pereira’s defence does not improve, Cobbo has shown the confidence and ability to carry the ball straight and hard at opposing wingers to run straight over the top of them. The Broncos have a few other means to get Cobbo to the in-goal area, which should see him score two or more tries for the visiting side ($4.10).
Weather predictions for the Gold Coast this weekend suggest Cbus Super Stadium will be dry and fast, which should make for an exciting brand of football. Along with Cobbo, players such as Reece Walsh, Herbie Farnworth, Kotoni Staggs, Jayden Campbell, David Fifita and Khan-Pereira have shown this season they can be some of the best attacking players in the competition. Should these two sides click offensively, this should be a high-scoring match that goes over 45.5 total points ($1.90).

Broncos fans may remember in 2020 a number of decisions led to David Fifita moving to the Titans with Jordan Riki coming into the second row as his replacement. The Kiwi international showed fans what he had to offer in round 17 of 2020 when he broke the line between Jerome Luai and Viliame Kikau to run 45m and score the first try of his NRL career. Since then, Riki has improved immensely on both sides of the ball, most notably his defence, to deliver on the hype he created those few years ago. This Saturday he will take on the man he replaced at Red Hill, which will be a true measurement of where Riki is at in his young career.
