Tim Clark to ride Diamond favourite
Luke Currie will miss the ride on Blue Diamond favourite Hanseatic after a fall at The Valley.
Sydney jockey Tim Clark will ride favourite Hanseatic in the Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield replacing Luke Currie who has been injured in a fall at The Valley.
Currie suffered a C7 fracture and broken ribs when he came off in an incident near the winning post in the final race on Friday night.
The jockey won last year’s Group One Blue Diamond Stakes on the Anthony Freedman-trained Lyre and has been aboard stablemate Hanseatic in all his starts.
The Godolphin-owned Hanseatic is unbeaten and remains the $2.50 favourite for Victoria’s premier juvenile race on Saturday.
Currie is also the regular partner of multiple Group One winner Sunlight.
Clark is in Melbourne primarily to ride Anaheed in the Group One Oakleigh Plate.
