Tigers vs Roosters betting preview
In the last decade this head-to-head clash has been the most lopsided in the NRL. Since 2010 the Wests Tigers have defeated the Roosters just twice and have lost a staggering 18 games in that time. The Tigers have also conceded 40 or more in seven of those games, so you can barely blame Wests if they have some painful battle scars. As if these scars aren’t hard enough to deal with, the Campbelltown locals will have to watch St Gregory’s College product James Tedesco tear through his old side.
Key matchup: David Nofoaluma vs Daniel Tupou
You might fall over when you read this, but does the result lay in the hands of David Nofoaluma for the Tigers? Yes, wingers are just blokes who hang out with footballers, but the reason we ask is he has the task of marking up on Daniel Tupou, who has scored some 16 tries in 11 games against Wests. The one game he didn’t score in those 11 fixtures, the Roosters lost. His height has caused enormous issues in the past for the Tigers defending kicks, so they’ll need to pressure the Roosters’ kickers and their right edge will have to be 100% correct with every defensive read.

We are all aboard the Leilua train… Luciano, that is. He was the most dangerous Tiger on the park last week and we suspect he will have another big game. The $4.50 for him to score at anytime must be considered, and while it appears to be a mismatch overall there is hope for Wests. Angus Crichton and Jake Friend have been ruled out, so maybe there is value in taking the Tigers at the +9.5 line?

Sydney Roosters betting info
Nat Butcher and Sitili Tupouniua have big boots to fill on the edges replacing Angus Crichton and Boyd Cordner, while Freddy Lussick will take over from Jake Friend following a concussion. They’ve held relatively firm in the head-to-head market which tells you the punters believe in the depth of the Chooks and the coaching of Trent Robinson. Interestingly, James Tedesco might have scored a hat-trick to start the 2021 season, but he has not scored against his former club in three outings. He is $10 to score first and he might break the hearts of the Campbelltown faithful.

Tigers vs Roosters betting predictions
The Sydney Roosters have some key personnel missing, but they’ll still have enough to get past the Tigers. They won’t do it as comfortably as last week, which means the +9.5 Tigers head start at $1.90 is well and truly on the cards. Wests will have taken a lot of lessons out of their round one loss and will produce their best for longer periods than they did against Canberra.
Wests Tigers +9.5

We are taking the Roosters head-to-head with Daniel Tupou, Luciano Leilua and Josh Morris to all score at anytime, which pays $26.50 at Sportsbet.
