Round 10: Wests Tigers vs Newcastle Knights match preview
The Wests Tigers will host their last country game at Scully Park in Tamworth when the Newcastle Knights visit to kick off Saturday’s NRL action for round 10.
Although they’ve only won two games, the Tigers have shown vast improvement under coach Benji Marshall. Injuries and suspensions have hurt them, and while they sit 15th on the NRL ladder heading into the weekend, a win over the Knights could push Wests as high as 10th.
The Newcastle Knights have also struggled through injury, with superstar captain Kalyn Ponga set to spend a few months on the sidelines. The club has rallied, however, to secure back-to-back wins over the Dolphins and Warriors.
The Tigers have made several changes with Latu Fainu (hamstring) out injured, Aidan Sezer suspended, and Solomon Alaimalo dropped. Starford To’a slots into the centres and shifts Brent Naden to the wing, Jayden Sullivan starts at halfback, Apisai Koroisau is named at hooker despite back complaints.
Knights coach Adam O’Brien welcomes back Tyson Frizell to the starting side, pushing Dylan Lucas back to the interchange and Jed Cartwright to the reserves.

Tigers v Knights Rd 10 betting predictions
The Tigers have lost three of their four matches at this venue and each of their last five this season. The Knights have found success recently against Wests, covering the line in their last four meetings. Expect that trend to continue with the Knights covering the -3.5 handicap at $1.90 with the top NRL betting sites.
Knights winger Greg Marzhew has been in solid form over the last month, posting a whopping 20 tackle breaks in his last four matches. The Samoa international has scored a try in six of his latest eight away games and should be able to improve on that record as a $1.90 anytime tryscorer chance with PlayUp.
Points have been hard to come by for both sides in recent weeks. Wests have failed to score more than 20 points in any of their last five games, while the Knights have done so just twice in the same stretch. Each of the Tigers’ last seven matches have gone under the total points line, and this clash is likely to produce less than 44.5 points at $1.90 with online bookmakers.
