NRL team shake-ups as players and coaches on the chopping block
Parramatta Eels coach Brad Arthur has made some big moves ahead of the clash with the North Queensland Cowboys in round six of the NRL Premiership.
He has decided to make changes by dropping try-scoring winger Maika Sivo and moving young player Blaize Talagi to the reserves.
Despite Sivo’s impressive performance in scoring both tries during their game against the Canberra Raiders, he has been left out of the team.
This decision comes after he returned from a three-game suspension at the beginning of the season for a high-tackle on Gold Coast’s AJ Brimson during pre-season.
Additionally, Parramatta Eels rookie Daejarn Asi will take over as five-eighth, Bailey Simonsson will shift from centre to wing, and Morgan Harper will return to play in the centres.
The team will also welcome back second-rower Bryce Cartwright into the lineup.
Significant changes are also happening for the South Sydney Rabbitohs in preparation for their match against the Cronulla Sharks, where they are a $3.20 chance of winning with the top NRL bookmakers.
Debutant Jye Gray will step in for Latrell Mitchell at fullback due to the latter’s suspension, while Tyrone Munro will feature as a winger again.
Damien Cook is listed as the 18th man, while Peter Mamouzelos is set to start his eighth game.
The pressure on South Sydney Rabbitohs coach Jason Demetriou is mounting, with rumours swirling that he might be let go if the team doesn’t clinch a win this Saturday.
On a positive note, Brisbane Broncos fullback Reece Walsh is set to return after recovering from an injury suffered during their 32-12 loss against the Penrith Panthers.
With Walsh in action, Tristan Sailor will move to the bench as a reserve player.
The Battle of Brisbane game will also see Anthony Milford make his first appearance of the year for the Dolphins.
However, they will have to manage without Felise Kaufusi and Herbie Farnworth due to injuries.
Despite this setback,Thomas Flegler is slated to start in the front row.
