Tabcorp partners with AI company in bid to identify problem gamblers
Australian wagering giant Tabcorp has announced a new partnership with Mindway AI, a data analytics software company.
The partnership will see the gambling giant deploy an AI-enabled mechanism to analyse gambling behaviour and detect possible patterns of problem gambling that customers may be developing.
According to Tabcorp, the software product will identify changes in customer behaviour and assist potential problem gamblers at an earlier stage.
This is made possible as Mindway AI profiles players based on their gambling behaviour, recognising key behavioural shifts, including impulsive behaviour, monetary consumption and payment methods, repeated losses or loss chasing.
Tabcorp’s Chief Analytics and Data Officer, Dr Amy Shi-Nash, said the partnership was important because it would allow them to intercept customers before gambling becomes a problem.
Tabcorp’s Chief Customer Officer Jenni Barnett said the upgrades are an important part of the company’s digital transformation.
“The partnership with Mindway AI would allow Tabcorp to use the world’s best technology to identify and prevent harmful behaviour before it becomes a problem and to implement proactive measures to assist customers,” she said.
It is worth noting that Tabcorp is the first betting company in Australia to sign up with Mindway AI.
Mindway AI monitors the behaviour of approximately 6.5 million active players across 20 countries each month.
