Sydney Sixers vs Sydney Thunder BBL13 preview
Friday night BBL13 action takes place at the Sydney Cricket Ground with the Sydney Smash between the Sixers and Thunder. Rumors suggest former Australian Test and ODI opener David Warner could make his BBL return to the Thunder, while Steve Smith may also be available for the Sixers.
The Sydney Thunder have not played since New Year’s Day, when they were beaten by seven wickets at the hands of the Hurricanes in Hobart. Tom Kohler-Cadmore was run out for an incredibly rare diamond duck, with other batters getting solid starts in their innings but failing to record big scores. With Warner expected to return to the Thunder, he would be most likely open, with Alex Ross being dropped out of the current XI.
The Sydney Sixers‘ last match was a relatively clinical win over the Stars at the MCG on Saturday evening, with spinners Steven O’Keefe and Todd Murphy tying down the Stars’ batters. In the run-chaser, it was Daniel Hughes who played a brilliant supporting role in his 99-run partnership with star English batter James Vince, who hit twelve 4s to score 79 runs from 57 balls. Steve Smith is set to return to the side, and young all-rounder Jack Edwards will likely drop out of the XI.

Sydney Sixers to win
Moises Henriques 25+ Runs
Cameron Bancroft 20+ Runs
Hobart Hurricanes vs Adelaide Strikers betting predictions
The Sydney Smash has been hotly contested over the years, with the Sixers winning their last five matches against their cross-town rivals at the SCG. The last match between these two sides was interrupted by rain, and a result could not be achieved, but the Sixers have not been beaten by the Thunder since match 48 of BBL10. The Sixers (-149.25) are the best bet to beat the Thunder on Friday night.
Moises Henriques enjoys not only batting at the SCG but also against the Thunder, where he has scored 40+ runs in four of his last five matches against the visitors. The Sixers captain has the experience to get his innings started before scoring quickly in the later overs. -117.65 is a solid price with the online bookmakers for Henriques’ form with the bat to continue and score 25+ runs on Friday.
Cameron Bancroft’s move from the Scorchers to the Thunder has been a positive one in recent matches, with the opener recording 20+ runs in each of his last four away matches. Having recently been snubbed from the Australian Test squad to face the West Indies, Bancroft will be motivated to show Australian selectors what he can do with the bat again. -188.68 is another great price with the leading cricket betting sites for Bancroft to score 20+ runs on Friday night.
