NRL Finals Week 3: Storm v Roosters preview
The Melbourne Storm will host the Sydney Roosters at AAMI Park this Friday night, with the winner booking a spot in the 2024 NRL Grand Final.
The Storm opened as strong favourites at $1.28 with online bookmakers, which was no surprise given they have already beaten the Roosters twice this season.
These two sides last met at this ground in round 20, when Melbourne won by 16 points after ill-discipline from Roosters lock Victor Radley and hooker Connor Watson meant the visitors were down to 12 players on two occasions.
These two sides have met five times in the NRL finals, with the Roosters winning on three occasions. However, two of those wins have come in Sydney.
Craig Bellamy has named an unchanged line-up following Melbourne’s 27-point win over Cronulla a fortnight ago at this ground.
Similarly, Roosters coach Trent Robinson has named the same starting 17 that belted the Sea Eagles by 24 points last weekend at Allianz Stadium.

Storm v Roosters preliminary final predictions
The Storm have won 10 of their last 12 games against the Roosters, and four of those wins have come at this ground. Melbourne have also won on five of their last six outings, covering the betting line in the past four of those victories. Expect that strong form to continue as the Storm cover the line of 10.5 points at $1.90 odds with top NRL bookmakers.
The Roosters’ middle defence has struggled in each of their last four games. At the same time, Storm hooker and captain Harry Grant has scored tries in each of his last three appearances, two of which have been wins. If the Roosters make any mistakes around the ruck, Grant could be great value as a $2.40 anytime tryscorer play.
With Roosters halfback Sam Walker out of the side, captain and fullback James Tedesco has lifted his attacking output. As a result, he’s scored tries in five of his last six appearances. In a big game for the club, expect Tedesco to stand up and score again at $2.70 with Unibet.
