Stewards charge Brandon Stockdale
Apprentice Brandon Stockdale has been charged with having and using a mobile phone at a recent Caulfield meeting and giving false or misleading evidence to stewards.
On Wednesday stewards asked why Stockdale had a mobile phone in his possession after arriving in the jockeys room.
Jockeys are supposed to hand their phones in to an attendant during race meetinga.
Stockdale made two calls on his mobile phone in an area outside the jockeys room in a gap between his riding engagements.
The particulars of the charge for giving false or misleading evidence state that Stockdale made several assertions to stewards he was unaware the phone was in his bag and that he became aware of it being in his bag following a missed call from his master Logan McGill.
“These statements were later found to be false and misleading and as such the matter will be referred to the RAD Board on a date to be fixed,” the stewards report said.
