Skye’s the limit at Scone

Jockey Skye Bogenhuber is to move to Scone to become stable rider for Brett Cavanough.

In-form jockey Skye Bogenhuber believes the chance to link full-time with Scone trainer Brett Cavanough is too good to pass up.

Toowoomba-based Bogenhuber and Cavanough combined to win the Group Two Moreton Cup with The Monstar at Caloundra last month.

She also rode several winners for Cavanough when he had a short stint in Toowoomba while his Scone stables were being built last year.

Bogenhuber had a stint in Perth last year but since returning has again been a dominant factor in Toowoomba racing.

She rode for Cavanough at Grafton on Thursday which was the start of a busy few days for her.

“I rode a winner at Grafton and then I have rides for Brett at Muswellbrook on Friday. It is then back to Toowoomba for a full book on Saturday night and up to Caloundra on Sunday,” Bogenhuber said.

Bogenhuber said she jumped at the chance to ride full-time for Cavanough.

“I plan to move to Scone full-time at the end of the month to start the next season. Racing in NSW seems to be going very well and there is a chance to be riding most days of the week,” Bogenhuber said.

“Really it is too good to pass up. Brett is very loyal to his riders and I can ride light so I should get plenty of rides.

“Toowoomba will always be home but you have to take your chances when you get them.”

Bogenhuber has again been in great form this season riding 56 winners and is on her way to a sixth Toowoomba premiership.
