Simon Morrish to front RAD Board
Ballarat trainer Simon Morrish faces three charges over the alleged race day treatment which eventuated in the scratching of Show A Star from a race at Flemington.
Racing Victoria stewards have charged Morrish with allegedly administering an unknown substance, by injection, to Show A Star on July 8.
He has also been charged with injecting, or causing Show A Star to be injected on July 8, or the day before.
The third charge stems from his failure to record the treatment of Show A Star on July 4 after the gelding was administered Meloxicam by an authorised veterinary practitioner.
Show A Star was inspected by RV’s Compliance Assurance Team on the morning of the Flemington race and was withdrawn following his arrival on course after stewards suspected the horse had received an injection to his near-side neck either that morning or the previous day.
The charges will be heard by the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board on a date to be fixed..
