She’s Our Star in winning debut at Doomben
First-starter She’s Our Star has belied her chubby looks to take at step towards a start in the Magic Millions 2YO Classic.
She’s Our Star ($5) was too strong to win by a length to Excelebrazione ($13) with a long neck to Mishani Bullit ($14) at Doomben on Saturday.
Trainer Tony Gollan was the first to admit there was plenty of improvement in She’s Our Star who had worked strongly in a course proper gallop at Eagle Farm on Tuesday.
“Yes, she is a bit chubby but she is a tough little thing. Last year I over-cooked a few of my two year olds and this year I have decided to leave a bit in them,” Gollan said.
“If she pulls up OK she will run in a two-year-old fillies race at Eagle Farm in a fortnight and then she should have enough prize money for us to think about the Magic Millions.”
She’s Our Star cost $60,000 as a yearling and was syndicated by Darren Dance’s Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock.
