Sharks v NZ Warriors match preview
Cronulla Sharks are set to host the New Zealand Warriors and cement their spot in the top four on the NRL ladder on Saturday night at PointsBet Stadium in round 26 of the 2024 NRL Premiership.
The Sharks have won their last four on the bounce, including a 28-point flogging of their local rivals the Dragons last weekend. In third spot on the ladder, the club likely needs just one win to earn a home semi-final.
Meanwhile, the Warriors are fighting to finish the season on a high after losing their last four games in a row, including a defeat at the hands of the Eels a month ago. In 14th place on the ladder the NZ club will be desperate to finish the season and begin building towards 2025.
Coach Andrew Webster will be without centres Adam Pompey (knee) and Roger Tuivasa-Sheck (concussion) for the remainder of the season. Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad and Ali Leiataua will start in the centres with Taine Tuaupiki named at fullback. Chanel Harris-Tevita has also been left out of the side with Tom Ale taking his place.
Sharks coach Craig Fitzgibbon has also made several changes to his side following last week’s win. Jesse Ramien (suspension) has been replaced by Siosifa Talakai who will return from a calf injury, while Sione Katoa (concussion) will return to the side on the wing in place of Mawene Hiroti.
Nicho Hynes has also been named in the extended reserves and could be a late inclusion to the starting side as he returns to play after an ankle injury.
The Sharks have been well supported into -555.56 favourites to win this match in early betting markets at Australian bookmakers.

Sharks v Warriors tips and betting strategy
The Sharks have won four of their last five clashes with the Warriors, and two of those wins have come at this ground. Meanwhile, the Warriors have lost eight of their last nine away matches and failed to cover the line in all of their last four night games. At their home ground the Sharks should win comfortably by 13 points or more at -133.33.
Sharks edge-forward Briton Nikora has been in brilliant form over recent weeks, scoring four tries in his last six matches, and three in each of his last three appearances. Against the older and less-agile Warrior Kurt Capewell, there is great value in the +265 quote for Nikora to score in his fourth straight game.
The Warriors have struggled to score points in their most recent night matches, but the Sharks haven’t, scoring 44 points or more in three of their last five games. With the Warriors season winding down and the Sharks in the hunt for the finals, expect a high-scoring affair with 50 points or more scored here (-111.11).
