Serie A Matchday 31 betting preview, free tips & predictions
With just eight weeks to go, the 2023/24 Serie A season continues as the fight for positions heats up. Below are our free soccer betting tips for Matchday 31.
Salernitana v Sassuolo
Saturday, April 6 – 5:45am AEDT – Stadio Arechi
Sitting one point from safety, Sassuolo face an excellent opportunity to get out of the relegation zone as they face Salernitana. The bottom side sits 11 points away from salvation, having conceded goals easily while also struggling to score. Despite being on the road, Sassuolo enter this match as favourites with top Serie A bookmakers and should be too good with so much on the line.
Sassuolo to win
AC Milan v Lecce
Sunday, April 7 – 12am AEDT – Stadio San Siro
On a six-match winning streak in all competitions, AC Milan now find themselves six points clear of Juventus in the fight for second place. They come in as firm favourites at home against the 13th-placed Lecce. While the visitors aren’t expected to challenge, they have conceded just two goals in their past four matches, so add the under for some extra value.
AC Milan / Under 2.5 goals
Roma v Lazio
Sunday, April 7 – 2am AEDT – Stadio Olimpico
It’s the Derby della Capitale as the fifth-placed Roma host the seventh-placed Lazio. The home side enters this game unbeaten in six outings, but the visitors will be full of confidence after their last-minute win over Juventus last Saturday. Roma come in as slight favourites with Serie A betting sites, but given the occasion and that the past four matches have gone under 2.5 goals, expect another tense contest.
Under 2.5 goals
Empoli v Torino
Sunday, April 7 – 4:45am AEDT – Stadio Carlo Castellani
On a run of four straight defeats and holding the worst attacking record in the Serie A, the 18th-placed Empoli need to turn their form around quickly if they are going to survive. Empoli come in as underdogs for their clash with the ninth-placed Torino, as they are winless in their past five meetings. The visitors are also four matches unbeaten, and with hopes of a top-half finish, they should be too strong.
Torino to win
Frosinone v Bologna
Sunday, April 7 – 8:30pm AEST – Stadio Benito Stirpe
The major surprise of the Serie A season, Bologna have continued their excellent form to sit inside the top four. Winning eight of their past nine games, they now travel to face relegation candidates Frosinone. The home side has been unable to fix its leaky defence, while Bologna have conceded just three goals in their past eight matches.
Bologna to win
Monza v Napoli
Sunday, April 7 – 11pm AEST – U-Power Stadium
The disappointing season has continued for Napoli, who are five points outside the European positions. Sitting just three points behind, Monza are exceeding expectations as they push for a top-half finish. While Napoli enter this match as betting favourites with online bookmakers, the reverse fixture ended in a draw, so look for a spirited performance from the home side.
Both teams to score
Cagliari v Atalanta
Monday, April 8 – 2am AEST – Unipol Domus
Sitting just two points behind the fifth-placed Roma with a game in hand, Atalanta face an excellent opportunity for three points against relegation contenders Cagliari. Atalanta come in as hot favourites with soccer betting sites, but given that the home side has lost just one of its past six matches, they will need to be careful of complacency.
Both teams to score
Hellas Verona v Genoa
Monday, April 8 – 2am AEST – Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi
Just two points clear of the relegation zone, Hellas Verona have been in good form lately with just one loss from their past four matches. They now face a tricky test against Genoa, who have the second-most draws in the Serie A this season. Top soccer bookmakers have even odds for this contest, and given that three of the past five matches between the sides have ended in a stalemate, expect another close contest.
Draw
Juventus v Fiorentina
Monday, April 8 – 4:45am AEST – Allianz Arena
Juventus have won just one of their past nine matches, dropping from title contention to a fight for fourth place. They enter this weekend as favourites against the 10th-placed Fiorentina, but given the visitors beat Atalanta during the week, this will be far from a one-sided contest. There should be chances at either end, so get on both teams to score.
Both teams to score
Udinese v Inter Milan
Tuesday, April 9 – 4:45am AEST – Bluenergy Stadium
With a 14-point gap at the top of the table, Inter Milan are 24 games unbeaten as they inch closer to claiming the Scudetto. Facing the 14th-placed Udinese, Inter will need to be wary of a tricky side that has upset AC Milan, Juventus, Bologna and Lazio this season. Keep an eye out for Inter wingback Federico Dimarco, who has three goals in his past five matches playing on the left flank.
Federico Dimarco anytime goalscorer
