Serie A betting preview, free tips & best odds | Matchday 23
The 2023/24 Serie A season continues this weekend with a top-of-the-table clash between Inter Milan and Juventus headlining the action. Below are our free soccer betting tips for all 10 matches of Matchday 23.
Lecce vs Fiorentina
Saturday, February 3 – 6:45am AEDT – Stadio Ettore Giardiniero
Winless in their past six matches, Lecce have tumbled down to 14th on the table. Just three points clear of the drop zone, it won’t get much easier as they welcome the sixth-placed Fiorentina. Despite losing two of their past three, Fiorentina were impressive against Inter Milan last weekend and should have little trouble getting three points here.
Fiorentina to win
Empoli vs Genoa
Sunday, February 4 – 1am AEDT – Stadio Carlo Castellani
Undefeated in their past seven Serie A Matches, Genoa have completely turned their season around in the past two months to climb up to 11th place. After earning a draw against Juventus last weekend, the 19th-placed Empoli will be confident heading into this clash; however, they haven’t beaten Genoa in their past eight meetings, and it is hard to see the trend changing.
Genoa to win
Udinese vs Monza
Sunday, February 4 – 1am AEDT – Bluenergy Stadium
After facing top-eight teams in each of their past five matches, Udinese will be keen to get some slight relief as they welcome the 12th-placed Monza. Despite the quality of their opposition, Udinese still showed plenty of quality as they scored eight goals across the stretch. Sat outside the relegation zone on goal difference alone, this is an excellent chance for the home side to gain some vital points against a side they have never lost to in the Serie A.
Udinese to win
Frosinone vs AC Milan
Sunday, February 4 – 4am AEDT – Stadio Benito Stirpe
After conceding a 93rd-minute equalizer to Bologna last weekend, AC Milan have now fallen even further behind the league leaders as they sit comfortably on their own in third place. Travelling to face the 13th-placed Frosinone this weekend, expect Milan to return to winning ways. Eight of the past nine AC Milan matches have gone over the total points line, whilst Frosinone have the second-worst defence in the Serie A.
AC Milan / Over 2.5 goals
Bologna vs Sassuolo
Sunday, February 4 – 6:45am AEDT – Stadio Renato Dall’Ara
With just one goal from their past four Serie A matches, Sassuolo are struggling as they sit just one point clear of the relegation spots. Now they face a tough test as they head to Bologna, who haven’t lost at home in their past 10 matches. Despite being winless in their past five, Bologna have earned tough away draws against AC Milan and Fiorentina and they should be too strong at home.
Bologna to win
Torino vs Salernitana
Sunday, February 4 – 10:30pm AEDT– Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino
Sat in last with the worst defensive record in the Serie A, Salernitana are now seven points away from safety as they face a tough away trip to Torino. With the third-best defensive record in the Serie A, Torino have been able to cover up their offensive concerns to sit in the top half of the table. With Salernitana’s shaky defence combined with their ability to hit the scoreboard in their past eight Serie A matches, backing the over offers great value.
Over 2.5 goals
Napoli vs Hellas Verona
Monday, February 5 – 1am AEDT – Stadio Diego Armando Maradona
Collecting a vital point in their clash with Frosinone last weekend, Hellas Verona are now out of the relegation zone before their trip to Napoli. Needing a win to stay in touch with the top six, Napoli should make light work of this clash despite their poor run of form. With the odds skewed towards Napoli, look towards them keeping a clean sheet as well as they face the 18th-ranked attack in the Serie A.
Napoli to win to nil
Atalanta vs Lazio
Monday, February 5 – 4am AEDT – Gewiss Stadium
A critical match in the European picture, the fourth-placed Atalanta will be keen to gain some ground over the chasing pack as they welcome the seventh-placed Lazio. Separated by just two points on the table, each match is crucial for these two sides as the dominance of the top three likely means there is just one top-four spot up for grabs. Both sides enter this match on long unbeaten streaks, but with the home advantage and the stronger attack, backing Atalanta is the smarter play.
Atalanta to win
Inter Milan vs Juventus
Monday, February 5 – 6:45am AEDT – Stadio Giuseppe Meazza
With these teams separated by just one point at the top of the table, this is the most important match of the Serie A season. After dropping points to Empoli last weekend, Juventus could well find their title hopes disappear here as Inter can turn a win into a seven-point lead with their game in hand. With key players Adrien Rabiot and Federico Chiesa in doubt for the visitors, backing the home side seems like the safest bet in what should be a thrilling clash.
Inter Milan to win
Roma vs Cagliari
Tuesday, February 6 – 6:45am AEDT – Stadio Olimpico
After sacking Jose Mourinho two weeks ago, Roma have won consecutive matches to work their way into fifth position. Facing another relegation candidate at home this week, back Roma to continue their winning ways. Whilst the odds are skewed in their favour, look for added value in Cagliari scoring; Roma have conceded in each of their past eight matches, whilst Cagliari have scored in each of their past five.
Roma / Both teams to score
