September 5-6 US Open tennis multi selections and bookie bonuses
Monday night/Tuesday morning – matches from 1.05am AEST
WE are heading for the business end of the US Open as the fourth round kicks off at Flushing Meadows.
And he big guns are still shooting for the final grand slam of the year.
Serena Williams looks to add to her remarkable story, while men’s world number two Andy Murray will also hit centre court.
We’ve run our eye over all of tomorrow morning’s matches and come up with a little multi and something a little larger to hopefully win you some dough.
Selections for the September 5/6 US Open Multi of the day:
Juan Martin Del Potro to beat Dominic Thiem ($3.07) – $1.38
Andy Murray to beat Grigor Dimitrov ($6) – $1.13
Stanislas Wawrinka to beat Illya Marchenko ($8.50) – $1.07
Simona Halep to beat Carla Suarez Navarro ($3.37) – $1.33
Serena Williams to beat Yaroslava Shvedova ($9.50) – $1.06
Agnieszka Radwanska to beat A Konjuh ($5.30) – $1.16
Add Ivo Karlovic to beat Kei Nishikori ($1.22) – $4.35
Combined multi pays $11.86 @ Sportsbet.com.au
Andy Murray to beat Grigor Dimitrov ($6) – $1.13
Andy Murray is the second best tennis player in the world, but the Brit says he will have to play better against Bulgarian slugger Grigor Dimitrov if he is to advance. In their only clash this year, Dimitrov snapped a three match losing streak against Murray at the Miami Masters, which will give him some confidence heading into this one. But this is Andy Murray on the big stage and it would be a monstrous boilover if he was bundled out in the fourth round.
Serena Williams to beat Yaroslava Shvedova ($9.50) – $1.06
Serena Williams is perhaps the best female tennis player ever to step foot on this planet. Power, precision and a devastating will to win make her a formidable foe. Despite a sore shoulder, she has powered into the deeper rounds at the Open, going past Martina Navratilova’s women’s record (306) for grand slam victories. She’s about to extend that record against Yaroslava Shvedova, and break the all-time mark, set by injured Swiss master Roger Federer (307). The two have played each other four times and Williams has only ever dropped one set against the Kazakh.
Stanislas Wawrinka to beat Illya Marchenko ($8.50) – $1.07
Big Stan took all of five sets to get past Daniel Evans, at times throughout looking like the inferior player, but drawing on all his skill and experience to get past the 64th ranked Pom. And he will be facing a player who is very fresh in Illya Marchenko, who fought back from a set down against Nick Kyrgios to take a two sets to one lead, before the controversial Aussie broke down in tears and retired from the match with injury. You get the feeling the 28-year-old would be content with where he has got to in this tournament and Wawrinka should be able to handle him easily.
Juan Martin Del Potro to beat Dominic Thiem ($3.07) – $1.38
Argentinean Del Potro admits he is surprised to find himself in the second week of the US Open, but he shouldn’t be. Ranked at 142, Del Potro’s remarkable renaissance looks set to continue against eighth seeded Dominic Thiem. One of the best tennis players in the world on his day, Del Potro smacked whacked Spain’s David Ferrer in straight sets to set up the fourth round clash. A wretched run of injury saw him miss nine straight grand slams and left his ranking on the scrap heap, but, fresh off a silver medal at the Rio Olympics, he might be ready to add to his trophy case at Flushing Meadow.
Simona Halep to beat Carla Suarez Navarro ($3.37) – $1.33
This one is expected to be a tight battle between two of the top 12 female tennis players in the world. This pair has shared a burgeoning rivalry over the years, meeting 10 times in all competitions and splitting those matches right down the middle at five each. It sets up a mouth watering clash, with the Romanian Halep favoured to claim victory. And, while the Spaniard is a tough customer, she might not quite have the tools to go with Halep here, who is just entering her tennis prime and looking to rise up the rankings.
Agnieszka Radwanska to beat Ana Konjuh ($5.30) – $1.16
World number 92 Ana Konjuh would be seeing Agnieszka Radwanska in her nightmares. The 18 year old had the number three seed on the ropes at Wimbledon, only to squander three match points and then turn her ankle in a devastating result she might never recover from. Don’t expect this match to be so tight. Radwanska is ranked number four in the world and, at 27, the Polish star is pushing hard to be the next big thing once Serena Williams fades (if she ever does). That spells bad news for the young Konjuh. The Croat, though, has big things ahead, just not in this tournament, unfortunately.
Ivo Karlovic to beat Kei Nishikori ($1.22) – $4.35
This is a bonus one, just to get a bit of bloat in your multi if you like to take a risk. Big Ivo is the aces king and is in monstrous form. There is no doubt Nishikori is the better overall tennis player, but he could struggle with the Croatian’s power and, at 37, the ageing titan would no doubt fancy has chances against the Japanese star. Even if he doesn’t win, you can guarantee there will be a flurry of aces fired down in this match.
