NRL Round 4 preview: Manly Sea Eagles vs Parramatta Eels
The Sea Eagles will be looking to keep their hot start to the NRL 2025 season rolling when they host the winless Parramatta Eels at 4 Pines Park on Sunday afternoon.
Manly were electric last week in a 40-12 demolition of the Raiders and now welcome back superstar fullback Tom Trbojevic, who adds even more firepower to an already potent attack.
With ‘Turbo’ slotting in behind a dominant forward pack and combining with Daly Cherry-Evans and Luke Brooks, the Sea Eagles have the weapons to carve up a brittle Eels defence.
Meanwhile, Parramatta remain rooted to the bottom of the ladder and face an uphill battle to avoid going 0-4 to start the 2025 NRL season.
They showed grit in their loss to the Bulldogs last week but still lacked the polish and execution in key moments, while they have now conceded some 98 points in three games.
That’s music to the ears of a Manly side averaging 32.7 points per game and covering the handicap in seven of their last eight home fixtures, with the top rugby league betting sites placing the line at 18.5 points.
The Sea Eagles have also won seven of their last eight at Brookvale, where their expansive style and quick shifts thrive on dry Sunday afternoons.
Cherry-Evans may be departing at the end of the year, but he’s playing with purpose, and this squad looks hungry to deliver in 2025.
With the Trbojevic brothers leading the way and Reuben Garrick and Jason Saab on the flanks, the scoreboard could light up quickly.
Manly’s aggressive edge attack, superior ball-control, and home-ground advantage suggest this one could blow out fast, with the top online bookmakers setting the total points line at 54.5.

Sea Eagles vs Eels NRL Rd 4 betting predictions
The Sea Eagles bring serious attacking firepower into this clash, and their home record speaks for itself. With the Eels conceding over 30 points per game and struggling to maintain structure, Manly’s edge combinations should feast. The Sea Eagles to win by 19 or more seems likely at $1.90 with BetOnline.
With Manly likely to dominate field position, Ben Trbojevic is well placed to cross against a Parramatta right edge that’s leaked plenty of points. He is running great lines and scored last week, and with his brother back in the spine, expect ‘Burbo’ to be even more involved. The $3.50 anytime tryscorer odds at BetOnline are great value for a forward who pops up in the right places.
Manly games at Brookvale tend to open up, especially against weak defensive outfits. The Eels have conceded 38, 34 and 26 in their last three, and the Sea Eagles are averaging 32.7 points per game. Both teams have enough attacking talent to help push this over, even if it’s Manly doing most of the heavy lifting. Take the total to be 55 points or more at $1.90 with BetOnline.
