Friday’s NRL Magic Round action wraps up with the brilliant Brisbane Broncos taking on a weakened Manly Sea Eagles side at Suncorp Stadium.

Having been belted by the Roosters at Suncorp in round nine, the Broncos returned to form last weekend with a commanding 16-point win against the Eels in Parramatta. Brisbane have now won four of their last five games and will be eager to ramp up the pressure on the teams above them on the NRL ladder.

The Manly Sea Eagles have won two of their last five outings, as well as sharing a draw with the Warriors, but how they’ve lost their last two matches is of great concern. A fortnight ago, they conceded a 20-point lead to the Raiders at home, and then the Dolphins chased down an early 12-point lead in the first half to go on and win by a converted try.

Manly coach Anthony Seibold will be without speedster winger Jason Saab (shoulder) and superstar fullback Tom Trbojevic (hamstring). Tolutau Koula moves to fullback, with Tommy Talau sliding into the centres and Raymond Tuaimalo Vaega named on the wing. Haumole Olakau’atu returns from suspension in the second row, pushing Corey Waddell back to the interchange.

Brisbane Broncos coach Kevin Walters has also been forced to make changes, with hooker Billy Walters missing due to a wrist injury. Jock Madden returns at halfback in place of Josh Rogers, Tyson Smoothy starts at dummy-half, and Blake Mozer is named on the bench.

Sea Eagles v Broncos round 11 betting picks

The Broncos have won two of their three Magic Round clashes with the Sea Eagles, six of their last seven matches at Suncorp, and four of their last five matches by 13 or more points. Although this is designated as a home game for Manly, the Broncos will play in front of a healthy supporter base keen to see them continue winning. While the Sea Eagles missing their brightest star, expect a dominant win by 13 or more to Brisbane at +105 with PlayUp.

The Sea Eagles have failed to win both halves in each of their last three games at Suncorp and come into this match having lost both halves against the Dolphins last weekend. Meanwhile, the Broncos have won both halves in each of their last four wins. Expect that trend to continue with Brisbane completing the half-time/full-time double (-208.33).

Selwyn Cobbo’s form leading into State of Origin has been unbelievable, scoring four tries in each of his last four games. In the corresponding match last year, the Broncos centre bagged a hat-trick in front of his home crowd.
