Perth Scorchers are favourite with betting sites to defeat Brisbane Heat At Optus Stadium in Perth, in BBL action on Saturday night.
These two franchises have not met since BBL 11 and this match is a huge clash for the Heat specifically in terms of their finals prospects.
These two sides have changed significantly since last season.
Colin Munro has moved to the Heat as part of the new BBL Draft system, with Sam Billings also being added to the Heat side.
The Scorchers have now been tasked with replacing Faf Du Plessis, who played his last game of the season against Sydney Thunder, at the top of the order.
The Scorchers are the BBL leaders and have been incredibly hard to beat in Perth until the Thunder beat them on Wednesday, by six wickets with 18 balls in hand.
The Heat are on the way up after beating the Sixers in Brisbane last Sunday and being in the box seat two days later to beat them again at North Sydney Oval, before rain washed the clash out. Look for their upward trend to continue and the Heat to beat the Scorchers in Perth paying $2.25 with cricket betting sites.
Munro was a star for the Scorchers for many years at the top of their batting order and has found form for the Heat recently at Metricon Stadium and North Sydney Oval against both Sydney sides.
Munro will be incredibly familiar, not only with the type of conditions he will face at Optus stadium, but the bowling attack of the Scorchers. Look for Munro to lead the Heat’s batting innings as he has done in the last week and be the leading run scorer for the away side paying $3.70.
Since his return to the Heat side from Australian duties, Michael Neser has been one of the Heat’s best players. The wickets played on most recently at Optus Stadium have heavily favoured the bowlers and most importantly bowlers like Neser.
Neser can run in and hit the pitch hard, extracting all the natural variation, while also using his own variations to take wickets. Neser can also bowl the classic ‘Test’ style line and length that makes batting incredibly difficult. With all this in mind, he is in the box seat to take 3+ wickets for the Heat paying $5.50 with online bookmakers.
Key match up: Colin Munro v Jhye Richardson
The top order clash between Munro and Richardson will set the tone for the Heat’s innings which will be key to their winning chances. The Heat play best when they bat first and defend big scores, something Munro plays a pivotal role in. Richardson has been instrumental to the Scorchers by taking wickets early in recent weeks and putting the opposition on the back foot. These two will battle for supremacy and the winner of this battle will put their franchise on the front foot to secure a big win in terms of how the BBL Finals shape up.
