Santa Ana Lane wins Stradbroke Handicap

Santa Ana Lane has taken out his third Group One victory of the season with victory in the $1.5 million Stradbroke Handicap at Doomben on Saturday.

Ben Melham manoeuvred the gelding through the inside then tore past his rivals after the 200m to comfortably beat Super Cash, with Champagne Cuddles in third place.

The Anthony Freedman-trained Santa Ana Lane won The Goodwood (1200m) last start and is the first horse to win the Goodwood-Stradbroke double.
