NRL Round 4: Sydney Roosters v Gold Coast Titans betting preview
The Sydney Roosters will look to extend their dominance over the Gold Coast Titans when they meet in Friday night footy at Allianz Stadium, with the home side heavily favoured to bounce back from last week’s loss with the top NRL bookmakers.
The Roosters were restricted to just six points in a grinding defeat to the Warriors, but they will be boosted by the return of key forwards Lindsay Collins and Nat Butcher.
With Zach Dockar-Clay stepping in for the concussed Connor Watson, Trent Robinson’s side will hope a stronger middle rotation gives them the edge.
Gold Coast have their tails up after a 26-6 win over Newcastle and come into this one full of confidence despite a horror record against the Roosters.
The Titans will be without gun fullback Keano Kini (neck), with Jaylan De Groot handed just his second NRL start, while Alofiana Khan-Pereira and Jaimin Jolliffe also remain sidelined.
This will be their first visit to the new Allianz Stadium, while only two players in their squad have NRL experience at the venue.
The Roosters, by contrast, have an excellent home record, and winger Dom Young has scored 15 tries in 12 appearances at the ground, with the online bookmakers pricing him at $1.46 to cross again.
Sydney have averaged over 32 points across their last seven clashes with the Titans — including a 48-22 belting in Round 25 last year — and rugby league betting sites are tipping a similar outcome with the Roosters installed as clear $1.44 favourites.

Roosters v Titans Rd 4 betting predictions
The Roosters have won 11 straight games against the Titans, with their last three victories all coming by 16 points or more. They return home to Allianz Stadium with a bolstered forward pack, while Gold Coast are missing their first-choice fullback and some key strike weapons out wide. As heavy favourites, the Roosters should have enough firepower to clear the line set by BetOnline.
Mark Nawaqanitawase has looked increasingly dangerous on the left edge and looms as a try threat against a reshuffled Titans backline. The Roosters have been back to targeting the left edge and will set up the rugby convert nicely to score. At $2.40 in the anytime tryscorer market at BetOnline, he is a value play in a game that should produce plenty of points.
Both teams have shown attacking flair but also defensive lapses, making this total very reachable. Six of the last eight games between these sides have gone over the posted number, and the Roosters alone have averaged 38 points in their last three against the Titans. With dry conditions expected and plenty of attacking weapons on display, over 51.5 points looks the strongest play with BetOnline.
