Broncos v Roosters NRL R1 predictions
Despite losing five of their last six matches in round one, the Broncos have been backed from as long as +215 into -166.67 with online bookmakers. The 2023 runners-up appear much stronger across the outside backs and forwards, which makes them deserving favourites to win this match.
Selwyn Cobbo will begin this season as the full-time left centre for the Brisbane Broncos and will take on the injury-plagued Billy Smith. Playing in the centres, Cobbo should have more opportunities with the ball in space to isolate his defender one-on-one and use his incredible upper-body strength to beat them. The Broncos are expected to have plenty of attacking possessions, and +200 is great value for Cobbo to cross the try line at some stage.
The playing field at Allegiant Stadium is a metre narrower than a standard rugby league ground, and that could effect the way each team uses its flanks. As both sides like to target their wingers through the air, they may find scoring on the edges more difficult than usual. Expect this one to go under 39.5 total match points at -111.11 with Unibet.
