Daniel Ricciardo’s performance at Austrian GP fuels optimism
Daniel Ricciardo’s confidence received a boost from his ninth-place finish at the Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix, sparking optimism amid discussions about his future with Red Bull for the following Formula 1 season.
This marked his second point-scoring finish in three races.
He expressed satisfaction with his performance for the third consecutive time.
Ricciardo’s strong showing came at a moment following doubts raised by Red Bull motorsport advisor, Dr. Helmut Marko, regarding his position within the team before the race.
Ricciardo emphasised Marko’s focus on performance and results.
Ricciardo’s performance at the Red Bull Ring was positively impacted by the incident involving race leaders Max Verstappen and Lando Norris, which forced Norris to retire and Verstappen to receive a 10-second penalty.
This turn of events allowed Ricciardo to move up from 10th to ninth place in the laps, effectively doubling his points tally.
Following this race, Ricciardo has accumulated a total of 11 points, while his teammate Yuki Tsunoda, who finished in 14th place, maintains a tally of 19 points.
After three solid performances, the top Formula 1 bookmakers have Ricciardo priced at $3 to secure another points finish in the Great Britain GP.
