Redoute’s Image to back up at Eagle Farm

Trainer Kris Lees will back 2yo filly Redoute’s Image up at Eagle Farm a week after her last start.

A chance to tackle a longer race will means impeccably bred two-year-old Redoute’s Image will be on a quick back-up at Eagle Farm.

Redoute’s Image was a strong finishing second in The Jewel Two-Year-Old Prelude (1110m) at Doomben last Saturday and is set to run a week later in the QTIS Two-Year-Old (1300m) from barrier one.

The filly is trained by Kris Lees and is one many horses he has for the Australian Bloodstock syndicates.

Lees’ Queensland spokesman Mel Eggleston said the filly gave every indication of wanting further than 1110m.

“She is getting run out of her comfort zone in the shorter races. In both her runs up here she has got home strongly,” Eggleston said.

“The inside barrier should give her every chance to get a nice settled run. Provided she continues to do well Kris is keen to run her.”

There are few better bred horses than Redoute’s Image who cost $350,000 at the Magic Millions Yearling Sales.

She is by champion sire Redoute’s Image out of the mare Tracy’s Image whose dam Tracey’s Element was a champion in South Africa.

Tracey’s Element is the dam of 2009/10 Australian Horse of the Year, Typhoon Tracey.

“It is the family of Typhoon Tracey and full of black-type. So we would love to eventually get some black-type for Redoute’s Image,” Eggleston said.

Lees will be stepping up his Brisbane presence in coming weeks after a winning double at Doomben last week.
