Redkirk Warrior wins G1 Newmarket Handicap

Redkirk Warrior has made it back-to-back Newmarket Handicap wins with the topweight snatching a photo decision in the famous Group One sprint.

Sent out a $7 chance, Redkirk Warrior edged out Brave Smash ($9) with the three-year-old Merchant Navy ($6.50) taking the minor placing at Flemington.

Redkirk Warrior became the first horse in a century to win last year’s Newmarket without a lead-in run.
