She will be remembered at Friday’s service while NZ Thoroughbred Racing has begun collecting money on behalf of Gallop South which is in the process of setting up a formal trust for Black’s three children, two of whom were at the track when she died.
Black rode 108 winners during her career and was a well liked member of the southern racing community.
Racing Integrity Unit stipendiary stewards have adjourned an inquiry into the incident.
