Ravens v Buccaneers NFL Week 7 preview
The Baltimore Ravens will be looking to continue their excellent start to the NFL season when they face the Buccaneers in Tampa this Tuesday (AEDT)
Last weekend, the Ravens secured their fourth consecutive victory, beating the Commanders by seven points on the road. In a matchup between two of the most exciting teams in the NFL, Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson showed his class with 323 passing yards and a touchdown.
Baltimore were also dominant on the ground. Running back Derrick Henry continued his excellent form to rush for 132 yards and two touchdowns, while Jackson added 40 rushing yards of his own.
The Ravens are by far the best rushing team in the NFL this season, but they also rank inside the top 10 for passing yards. Unsurprisingly, they enter this game as -192.31 favourites with Marantelli Bet.
There are only a couple of concerns for Baltimore coach John Harbaugh this week, with linebacker Malik Harrison (groin) and wide receiver Deonte Harty (knee) missing practice.
The Buccaneers were also successful in Week 6, posting a season-high 51 points in a 24-point win over the Saints. Trailing by three at half-time, Tampa Bay posted 27 unanswered points in the second half to secure their fourth win of the season.
Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield threw for 325 yards and four touchdowns, while Chris Godwin (125 receiving yards, two touchdowns) and Sean Tucker (136 rushing yards, one touchdown) also had a great day.
This brings the Bucs’ record to 4-2, albeit while alternating between wins and losses over the past five weeks. Top NFL bookmakers have them as home underdogs for Week 7 at +160.
Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans headlines the injury report, as he is questionable with a hamstring issue. Tight end Payne Durham (calf) and cornerback Jamel Dean (hamstring) have also missed practice this week.
Ravens v Buccaneers betting strategy
The Ravens might be the best team in the NFL right now. Baltimore lead the league in total offensive yards, while they also rank top five for least turnovers. The Bucs have been good, but the difference between their best and worst is seen too often, so back the Ravens to cover the line of -3.5 points at -111.11 with leading sportsbooks.
These are two of the three highest-scoring teams in the NFL this season, so we should see plenty of points. Each of the last three Tampa Bay games have gone over the total points line, while four of the last five Ravens games have cleared. Despite the high line of 49.5 points, take the over at -111.11 with top sports betting sites.
While Jackson and Henry will receive plenty of attention in Baltimore’s ground game, watch out for Zay Flowers in the air. Although the wide receiver only has one touchdown this season, he has almost twice as many targets and receptions as any other Raven. At +150 with Marantelli Bet, back Flowers to find the endzone.
