Radley re-signs for Roosters ahead of 2023 NRL season
The Sydney Roosters have continued to strengthen their roster by announcing the re-signing of lock forward Victor Radley to a four-year deal.
The England international is a long-serving member of the Roosters who made his NRL debut in 2017. He has gone on to represent Sydney in 97 matches, scoring 13 tries.
Radley was a key figure in the premiership-winning sides of 2018 and 2019 that also went on to win the World Club Challenge in those years.
Despite issues with injuries keeping him off the field, his re-signing appears to indicate that the Roosters view Radley as a long-term leader.
A local junior, with a significant age gap back from current captain James Tedesco, the 24-year-old has been touted as a potential future skipper of the club.
With the potential retirement of teammate Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, Radley will be a fixture in this Roosters forward pack that includes Angus Crichton, Brandon Smith, Lindsay Collins, and Nat Butcher.
The news of Radley’s re-signing comes just days after reports the Roosters had signed Panthers forward Spencer Leniu from the start of the 2024 season, further solidifying what could be the best forward pack in the NRL.
Radley was not the only player the Roosters confirmed would be staying at the club. Egan Butcher, 22, has re-signed until the end of 2025.
A product the South Eastern Seagulls, Butcher has also progressed through the Roosters Pathway Program, playing 27 games for the club since making his NRL debut in 2021.
