Queensland price service to be refined
The Brisbane Race Club and Racing Queensland are confident they will have sorted out problems with the new official price fluctuation service for the next metropolitan meeting.
A new system called Queensland Official Price was introduced last Wednesday but there have been some problems and confusion.
There was a problem with QOP on Saturday and the Australian Pricing Network was used as a back-up with variations in starting prices.
There were complaints from punters taking top fluctuation or starting price options as It meant there were differing starting prices being shown by QOP and several off-course bookmakers.
Pinch River was listed at starting at $10 with some bookmakers but QOP had it at $12 while Explosive One was returned at $15 with some bookies and QOP returned $20.
A BRC spokesman said QOP would be integrated with APN from Wednesday’s Doomben meeting which should ensure there was a consistent starting price for all horses.
QOP is a similar service to the one being used in Victoria and is expected to eventually be introduced Australia wide.
