Punters predict Sydney derby rematch in 2017 FFA Cup final
ONLINE bookmaker Sportsbet.com.au is forecasting an all-Sydney affair in the 2017 FFA Cup final.
A-League champions Sydney FC have already booked passage to the big dance with a dominant victory over South Melbourne in the semis.
Graham Arnold’s men were done in by Melbourne City in last year’s decider, but they are very well liked at $1.44 odds to go one better this time.
The Sky Blues will face the winner of Tuesday night’s clash between Western Sydney Wanderers and Adelaide United at Campbelltown.
Wanderers are $1.85 favourites to progress to the final, and their $3.60 outright quote is drawing plenty of interest from soccer punters.
“Sydney should be getting ready for a cross town rivalry to come to a head,” said Sportsbet’s Will Byrne.
“We’re tipping that the Wanderers will get it done tomorrow to make it a Sydney derby for the FFA Cup.”
Sydney FC and Wanderers have already met in the 2017/18 A-League season, drawing 2-2 at Allianz Stadium last weekend.
