Punter bets $220k on Trump to win 2020 US election

Donald Trump impeachment

AN Australian punter has placed several bets amounting to $220,000 on Donald Trump to win a second term as President of the United States of America.

Online bookmaker Sportsbet.com.au reports that the gambler in question wagered $120,000 on the incumbent POTUS only 10 days after pumping $100,000 into the same market.

That action has seen Trump’s odds firm from $3.75 into $3.20 in less than a fortnight.

“We’re double checking the name of the customer to make sure it’s not Mr D.J. Trump as there’s a familiar kind of self-belief about these bets,” said Sportsbet’s Will Byrne.

Hanson tipped to KO Katter in Queensland

Political pundits and online bookmakers alike are forecasting strong support for One Nation in the upcoming Queensland state election.

Pauline Hanson’s mob is rated a $1.17 chance to beat Bob Katter’s KAP ($17) in the battle of the minority parties.

One Nation is tipped to pick up three seats ($4) or four ($4.50), while KAP is paying $2 to wind up with a pair.

“There’s a lot of political uncertainty in Queensland right now with Labor and the Liberals both facing losses to the minority parties with One Nation tipped as the main beneficiary,” said Byrne.

Stu on course to steal Sophie’s heart

Stu is the punters’ overwhelming favourite to win the 2017 edition of The Bachelorette.

The intruder has drawn well over double the money wagered on Jarrod – his last remaining rival for the heart of former pop star Sophie Monk.

“Stu has really pulled away from the other two in the betting with punters confident in the rumours around town that he is Sophie’s choice,” said Byrne.
