PSG vs Inter Milan match preview

Paris Saint-Germain face Inter Milan in the 2025 UEFA Champions League final this Sunday morning (AEST), and it’s shaping up to be a belter in Munich.

Leading online bookmakers have the Parisians as slight favourites to lift the trophy at -163.93, while Inter offer more value at +130.

Heading into this clash PSG have surprised most pundits with their form. As expected, they comfortably secured the Ligue 1 title, but their Champions League performances have been exceptional.

Despite finishing 15th in the group stage, PSG brutally dealt Stade Brestois a 10-0 aggregate defeat in the playoff. They snuck past English champions Liverpool in a penalty shootout in the round of 16, before beating Aston Villa 5-4 in a scoreline that flattered the Villans. Luis Enrique’s side reached the final with a comprehensive 3-1 victory over Arsenal.

Inter Milan have had a much less successful season and sit without any silverware after finishing second in the Serie A and missing out on both Italian cups.

After finishing fourth in the group stage the Italians drew PSV in the round of 16, who they comfortably beat 4-1. In the quarter-finals, they held off German champions Bayern Munich 4-3 in a tense affair.

In one of the best semi-final ties you will ever see, Inter beat Spanish champions Barcelona 7-6, securing their place in the final in dramatic circumstances.

PSG team news

Expect Enrique to run a very similar lineup to the semi final team. Gianluigi Donnarumma will sit behind a centre-back pairing of Marquinhos and Willian Pacho, while Achraf Hakimi and Nuno Mendes form one of the most formidable fullback pairings in the world.

Expect a midfield three of Joao Neves, Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz. While there should be just one change, with Bradley Barcola being replaced by Ballon d’Or betting favourite Ousmane Dembele. Exciting wingers Desire Doue and Kvicha Kvaraskhelia round out the attack.

PSG’s expected starting XI:

GK: Gianluigi Donnarumma
RB: Achraf Hakimi
CB: Marquinhos
CB: Willian Pacho
LB: Nuno Mendes
CM: Joao Neves
CM: Vitinha
CM: Fabian Ruiz
RW: Desire Doue
ST: Ousmane Dembele
LW: Kvicha Kvaraskhelia

Inter Milan team news

Expect Simone Inzaghi to continue playing his signature 3-5-2 formation with a back three of Yann Aurel Bisseck, Francesco Acerbi and Alessandro Bastoni. Federico Di Marco and Denzel Dumfries play a critical role in both attack and defence as wingbacks.

Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglou and Henrikh Mkhitaryan pick themselves as the midfield three, while Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram continue their excellent attacking partnership.

Inter’s expected starting XI:

GK: Yann Sommer
CB: Yann Aurel Bisseck
CB: Francesco Acerbi
CB: Alessandro Bastoni
RWB: Denzel Dumfries
CM: Nicolo Barella

PSG v Inter betting predictions

Coming off a win in the Coupe de France last Saturday, PSG can not only win their first-ever Champions League but also complete the treble. Their attacking trio is seemingly unstoppable right now and although Inter have an excellent defence, both Barcelona and Bayern Munich showed it can be beaten. As favourites, back PSG to get the job done inside 90 minutes at +120 with major sports betting sites.

If recent Champions League results are anything to go by, then this match looks destined to have plenty of scoring. The last five games involving Inter have gone over the goals line, while PSG games have gone over in three of the last four. Despite finals typically being cagey affairs, this should break the trend, with over 2.5 goals at +100 with BetOnline.

While a lot of the attention will go to Dembele, keep an eye out for left winger Kvaratskhelia. The Georgian international has been in exceptional form since making the move from Napoli in January, scoring or assisting in two of his last four Champions League games. With a matchup against the attacking Dumfries and the inexperienced Bisseck down the left side, back Kvaratskelia to make an impact, scoring or assisting at +165 with top soccer betting sites.
