Prompt Response primed for Tatt’s Tiara

Prompt Response will be out to go one better in her second attempt at the Tatt’s Tiara.

Co-trainer Adrian Bott knows it will be no easy task but he is confident last year’s runner-up Prompt Response is primed for another big showing in the Group One Tattersall’s Tiara at Doomben.

Prompt Response won the Group Two Dane Ripper Stakes at Doomben last year before finishing second to Tycoon Tara two weeks later in the $500,000 Tattersall’s Tiara (1350m).

The four-year-old mare heads into Saturday’s Tiara off strong Sydney autumn carnival form and she was also second in the Dane Ripper last Saturday week in Brisbane in her first start from an eight-week let-up.

A multiple Group Two winner, Prompt Response is on the second line of betting behind three-year-old filly Champagne Cuddles and Bott is convinced the mare has improved since the Dane Ripper as she chases a breakthrough at the elite level.

“I feel she’s so deserving of a Group One so it would be really fitting to see her take it out,” Bott said.

“It would certainly give us a lot of satisfaction.

“I think it’s one of the tougher Tatt’s Tiara fields we’ve seen in recent years though.

“It’s quite open and there’s plenty of quality fillies and mares in the field, but she’s in great shape.

“This preparation, including through the autumn in Sydney, she’s been in some of the best form of her career and she looks to have carried that through to the early winter in Brisbane with her run in the Dane Ripper.

“I thought she was open to improvement after the Dane Ripper and she’s done well since that run.

“I’d like to think she can show that improvement on Saturday and be right amongst it.”

Prompt Reponse posted another Group One second in the autumn behind Alizee in the Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) at Randwick.
