Port Adelaide v North Melbourne Round 7 preview
Port Adelaide are building serious momentum following back-to-back wins and now return home to face a struggling North Melbourne side on Saturday in AFL Round 7.
The Power are starting to click across the board — their midfield is humming, the defence is holding firm, and the forward line is functioning well through the likes of Willie Rioli, Mitch Georgiades, and Sam Powell-Pepper. Fresh off a gritty eight-point win over Sydney and a big upset over the previously undefeated Hawks, Port will be eyeing a dominant performance at home.
North Melbourne, meanwhile, have shown flashes of promise this season but continue to struggle for consistency, with just one win to their name. Their last two outings have been particularly poor, suffering heavy defeats to Gold Coast and Carlton in successive weeks.
If the Kangaroos are to challenge Port this week, they’ll need to rediscover the effort and intensity they showed earlier in the season.
Power v Kangaroos R7 team news
Port Adelaide are likely to regain Brandon Zerk-Thatcher following a lengthy stint on the sidelines with a back injury. If selected, he could provide a valuable boost to the Power’s backline.
Star midfielder Ollie Wines is expected to play despite being subbed out in last week’s clash against Sydney due to his ongoing heart condition. Joe Richards is also in line to return after missing the match against the Swans.

North Melbourne will be forced into at least one change, with Zac Fisher sidelined by a hamstring injury. Jackson Archer shapes as the likely replacement, having recovered from his own hamstring issue.
Will Phillips impressed in the VFL last week and is pushing for a recall, while the rest of the Kangaroos’ lineup is expected to remain unchanged.
Port Adelaide v North Melbourne predictions
Willie Rioli is a consistent threat inside 50, kicking three or more goals in three of his last five games and averaging two goals per outing against North Melbourne. At $2.65 with Picklebet, he’s well worth a look to boot three or more again.
Travis Boak brings plenty of energy this season, clearing 25 disposals in two of his last five games. He’s also hit that mark in three of his last five outings against North, averaging 22.2 disposals in that span. At $4.60 to have at least 25 touches, he’s great value with online bookmakers.
Sam Powell-Pepper thrives in the contest and enjoys playing the Kangaroos, averaging 18 disposals against them. He’s cleared 15 touches in three of his last five clashes with North and presents a strong short play to do so again at $1.97 with Neds.
