Papua New Guinea take on Fiji in Port Moresby in the final match of the group stage of the Pacific Championship on Sunday afternoon.
PNG has been installed a $1.40 favourite with rugby league betting sites to defeat the Fijians ($3) with their team laden with NRL stars and seemingly having more class.
Our rugby league expert has cast their eye over the teams and found some PNG v Fiji betting tips and predictions, which we will run you through now.
Papua New Guinea team news
Following their 46-10 win over the Cook Islands in week one, PNG come into this clash full of confidence in their side. Despite this, the Kumuls have made plenty of changes to their side. With both first-choice centres being ruled out due to injury, Benji Kot moves into a starting position. Hooker Edwin Ipape returns from suspension to start, whilst Titans enforcer Jacob Alick has been forced to the bench as Rhyse Martin earns a starting spot.
Fiji team news
After just scraping through with a 22-18 last weekend against the Cook Islands, Fiji will need a much-improved performance this weekend. As such they have made two changes to the side, with forwards King Vuniyayawa and Mesake Ravuno coming into the side for Sirilo Lovokuro and Watisoni Waqanisaravi.
Papua New Guinea vs Fiji betting tips
After their excellent performance in week one it’s hard to look past the explosive Papua New Guinea side in this match. After they won the most recent encounter during the sides last year, the Kumuls look an ever-better side now. As such, back them in at $1.30 with Neds betting.
After scoring four tries in week one, Papua New Guinea winger Nene Macdonald is the clear favourite as an anytime try scorer at $1.77. But looking at more value, halfback Lachlan Lam scored two tries in the last match between these two sides and is paying $3.70 as an anytime try scorer with top bookmakers.
For Fiji, they are filled with NRL talent across their backline. After scoring the match winner last weekend, youngster Sunia Turuva shapes as the dangerous target once again and is great value as an anytime try scorer at $3.10.
