Perth Scorchers vs Melbourne Renegades BBL preview
Wrapping up a packed Boxing Day slate of cricket, the Melbourne Renegades are chasing their first win of Big Bash League 13 as they head across to face the Perth Scorchers.
Undefeated so far this season, the Perth Scorchers have been dominant in their two wins. Last season’s top run-scorer Aaron Hardie returned to form last match with a destructive 85 off just 45 balls. Whilst fast bowler Jason Behrendorff added four wickets to his league-leading total of seven for the season. Unfortunately, captain Ashton Turner suffered a hamstring injury in their win against the Hurricanes which has ruled him out for the rest of the tournament. As a result, expect Nick Hobson to come into the side.
The Melbourne Renegades continued their poor start to the tournament on Saturday as they fell to the Hobart Hurricanes by six wickets. Winless through four matches, the Big Bash season is quickly getting away from the Renegades, who desperately need a win to stay in finals contention. Don’t expect many changes to the side, which is full of international T20 experience.

Jake Fraser-McGurk 30+ runs
Perth Scorchers vs Melbourne Renegades betting predictions
As two-time defending champions and currently on a seven-match winning streak, the Perth Scorchers look unstoppable at the moment. Facing a Renegades side that is lacking confidence, the Scorchers will be looking forward to the possibility of sitting on top of the standings with a win. In front of the home crowd, expect the Scorchers to be too strong at -185.19 with Bet365.
Returning to the Big Bash after a stint with the Test squad, fast bowler Lance Morris will be keen to impress as he pushes for national selection. Known as the ‘Wild Thing’, Morris has the ability to trouble batsmen by bowling over 150 kilometres per hour. A key part of the Scorchers excellent pace attack, watch out for Morris to take 2+ wickets at $2.55 with top T20 cricket betting sites.
One of the most exciting young batsmen in the BBL, Jake Fraser-McGurk has had an excellent start to the tournament. Despite a golden duck against the Hurricanes on Saturday, Fraser-McGurk has over 100 runs at a strike rate of 215. With short, straight boundaries at Optus Stadium favouring his hitting arc, Fraser-McGurk will be looking forward to facing the pace attack. Look for value in Fraser-McGurk to score 30+ runs at +160 with top Australian bookmakers.
