Stewards alleged Carey grabbed the front clothing of Pennuto while he was leading a horse, pushing him towards the stalls, before striking him in the face with his right hand.
Pennuto was last week disqualified from training for six months with a further three month suspension when he reapplies for his trainers’ licence after he was found guilty of illegally stomach tubing one of his horses before a race at Moe in May.
