Oscar Piastri wins 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix | Full F1 recap
Oscar Piastri is soaring in the 2025 Formula 1 season, claiming his third win of the year with a brilliant performance under the lights at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
Starting from P2, the Aussie launched off the line superbly and jumped Max Verstappen after a lightning-fast pit stop, going on to finish nearly three seconds clear of the reigning champion.
Piastri was paying $2.00 with BetOnline before the race and now takes the outright lead in the Drivers’ Championship for the first time in his career, firmly establishing himself as McLaren’s number-one driver.
Charles Leclerc delivered a strong drive and claimed P3 for Ferrari, while Lando Norris recovered well from his qualifying crash to finish fourth. George Russell and rookie Kimi Antonelli brought their Mercedes cars home in fifth and sixth respectively, though the team struggled with tyre degradation and lacked the outright pace to challenge the leaders.
Carlos Sainz bounced back in a big way, finishing eighth and earning his first points since Round 2, while Alexander Albon and rookie Isack Hadjar rounded out the top 10.
It was a frustrating night for Red Bull’s Liam Lawson, who narrowly missed the points in P12, while Yuki Tsunoda failed to finish after contact on the opening lap.

F1 Saudi Arabia GP biggest winners
Oscar Piastri – Another composed and dominant drive from the Aussie, who has now claimed victory in three of the last four races and takes the lead in the championship heading into Miami. His maturity, tyre management, and qualifying pace are all elite at the moment, and he’s now the clear favourite for the Drivers’ Championship at $1.85 with top online bookmakers.
Carlos Sainz – Finally something to smile about. After a run of bad luck, the Spaniard delivered a clean race and benefited from smart strategy calls to pick up four much-needed points. It’s a timely confidence boost heading into the short break before the Miami GP.
Lando Norris – A strong recovery drive from P10 saw the Brit carve his way through the field and finish a solid fourth. While he still banked valuable points, he slips to second in the Drivers’ Championship and is now priced at $3.25 to take the title.
2025 F1 Saudi Arabian GP’s biggest blunders
Yuki Tsunoda – A first-lap collision brought an early end to Tsunoda’s race in Jeddah, continuing a frustrating run for Red Bull’s second seat. While the incident was largely a racing mishap, the pressure is mounting as Tsunoda struggles to deliver the consistent points the team is desperately seeking from their second driver.
Mercedes – It was a rough night for the Silver Arrows, who struggled with tyre management throughout the race. George Russell lost two positions late and had to settle for P5, while the team never looked in contention for the podium. They’ll be eager to bounce back with a stronger showing in Miami.
