Oscar Piastri wins 2025 Bahrain GP | Full F1 results & standings
Oscar Piastri claimed his second win of the 2025 Formula 1 season with a clinical drive at the 2025 Bahrain Grand Prix on Monday morning, cementing McLaren’s status as the early-season powerhouse.
After missing out in Japan, Piastri bounced back in style at Sakhir, leading from start to finish to beat George Russell by more than 15 seconds. It was a dominant showing from the Aussie, who was paying $2.85 with BetOnline before the race weekend began.
Following his standout performance in Bahrain, Oscar Piastri is now tied as the favourite for the Drivers’ Championship alongside teammate Lando Norris, with both priced at $2.00 at top online bookmakers.
Russell held off Lando Norris for P2, while Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton rounded out the top five in what was a solid but unspectacular showing for Ferrari.
Max Verstappen never looked in contention for the win and had to settle for P6 after a poor qualifying result and a sluggish first stint. Meanwhile, Alpine finally cracked into the points with Pierre Gasly finishing seventh after they unlocked their pace this weekend.
Haas secured an impressive double-points finish, with Esteban Ocon climbing from P14 to finish eighth, while Oliver Bearman delivered a standout drive from the very back of the grid to claim P10.

F1 Bahrain GP biggest winners
Oscar Piastri – Flawless. Commanding. Dominant. Piastri (74) didn’t put a foot wrong in Bahrain, delivering a performance that firmly cements him as a serious title contender. The McLaren is proving to be fast, reliable, and gentle on its tyres — and Piastri is making the most of it. To be challenging for a championship in just his third season is nothing short of remarkable. Sitting just three points behind Norris (77), it’s shaping up to be a very entertaining battle between the two McLaren teammates as the season progresses.
Lando Norris – It wasn’t the cleanest weekend for Lando Norris, starting from P6 and earning a five-second penalty for parking outside his grid box before lights out. A few uncharacteristic racing errors made it tough for him to challenge the front-runners, but he recovered well, ultimately overtaking Charles Leclerc in the closing stages to claim a well-earned P3 finish.
Pierre Gasly – Finally! Alpine fans have something to cheer about as Gasly delivered a clean, composed drive to finish seventh, securing his and the team’s first points of the season.
2025 F1 Bahrain GP’s biggest blunders
Carlos Sainz – The Spaniard’s tough start to the season continued with a DNF after a collision with Yuki Tsunoda, which tore open his sidepod and caused significant performance loss. It’s been a nightmare run so far, with luck and form both deserting him in the opening rounds.
Kimi Antonelli – After an impressive start to his rookie campaign, Bahrain proved to be a setback for the young Mercedes driver. A poorly timed safety car hurt his race strategy, and he found himself trapped in a DRS train with 10 laps to go, unable to break free and challenge for points.
Liam Lawson – The horror run continues for Lawson, who copped a total of 15 seconds in penalties for collisions with other drivers. The Kiwi needs to tidy up his racecraft and focus on small wins, rather than trying to force the issue in an effort to re-establish himself on the grid.
