Roosters v Sharks NRLW Grand Final preview

The Sydney Roosters will be seeking their second premiership when they meet the Cronulla Sharks in the 2024 NRLW Grand Final at Accor Stadium this Sunday afternoon.

Rugby league punters have backed Sydney from $1.45 into as short as $1.30 in the head-to-head betting, leaving Cronulla as $3.35 outsiders to win the competition in just their second season.

Easts coach John Strange has made one change to his starting side after last week’s win over the Newcastle Knights. Jessica Sergis returns from a knee injury to line up in the centres, pushing Jasmin Strange back to the bench.

These teams last met in round seven, when the Roosters belted a Sharks side missing five-eighth Georgia Hannaway by 40 points. Their only other encounter came the previous season at PointsBet Stadium, where Sydney won 36-12. In their fourth grand final appearance, get on the Roosters to salute by 13 points or more once again at $2.30 odds with top NRLW bookmakers.

Easts fullback Samantha Bremner came out of retirement as a favour to coach Strange and has hit top gear in recent weeks, scoring five tries in her last four appearances. Having already scored against Cronulla earlier this year, back Bremner to find the in-goal area once again at $2.75 with Neds.

On what could be a tough afternoon for the Sharks, captain Tiana Penitani looks like their most likely scoring threat. The 28-year-old centre has scored five tries in her last six appearances, including one last week against the Broncos.
