NRL Round 14 betting preview, free tips & predictions
The NRL returns to a full slate for Round 14 of 2025, and there are some interesting betting opportunities among the eight matchups. Below are BettingSite.com.au’s top picks for the Australian rugby league action this week.
Newcastle Knights vs Manly Sea Eagles
Thursday, 5 June – 7:50pm AEST – McDonald Jones Stadium, Newcastle
The Sea Eagles look poised to compound Newcastle’s miserable run, with Daly Cherry-Evans steering a confident Manly outfit that dismantled Brisbane last week. Kalyn Ponga’s return offers some spark, but the Knights are sorely lacking strike power, especially with Bradman Best and Greg Marzhew still sidelined. Expect Lehi Hopoate to continue his hot form at the back and Manly’s attack to pile on the pressure.
Manly Sea Eagles -6.5
Melbourne Storm vs North Queensland Cowboys
Friday, 6 June – 6pm AEST – AAMI Park, Melbourne
Melbourne are near-unbackable at AAMI Park as $1.20 favourites with the top NRL bookmakers, and with Harry Grant and Xavier Coates returning, the Storm should be too slick for a North Queensland side still leaking points despite recent wins. While the Cowboys will test Melbourne’s defence in patches, expect Jahrome Hughes and Cameron Munster to control proceedings.
North Queensland Cowboys +15.5
Dolphins vs St George Illawarra Dragons
Friday, 6 June – 8pm AEST – Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane
St George Illawarra have hit form at the right time, with back-to-back wins and a solid spine firing, while the Dolphins could be vulnerable after a big win and a week off. With Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow returning but defensive lapses still an issue, the Dragons‘ in-form backline might just cause another upset with the leading NRL betting sites.
St George Illawarra Dragons to win
Cronulla Sharks vs New Zealand Warriors
Saturday, 7 June – 5:30pm AEST – PointsBet Stadium, Sydney
The Warriors are gritty, composed, and have a genuine edge in tight contests — qualities the Sharks lacked in their last outing against the Roosters. Cronulla’s form at home has been shaky, and with Mitchell Barnett’s injury forcing reshuffles, expect Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and Charnze Nicoll-Klokstad to inspire the Wahs to another gutsy road win.
New Zealand Warriors to win
Brisbane Broncos vs Gold Coast Titans
Saturday, 7 June – 7:35pm AEST – Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane
The Brisbane Broncos are desperate and under siege, but with Reece Walsh and Pat Carrigan back in the mix, this shapes as a get-right game against the last-placed Titans. Despite recent dominance by Gold Coast in this derby, the Broncos should finally click and win big if they find rhythm early.
Brisbane Broncos to win
Canberra Raiders vs South Sydney Rabbitohs
Sunday, 8 June – 2pm AEST – GIO Stadium, Canberra
Josh Papalii’s 319th match provides an emotional anchor for the Canberra Raiders, who are flying high after back-to-back comeback wins on the road. Even with Cody Walker and Jack Wighton returning, the Rabbitohs are unlikely to match the Raiders’ steel and structure at GIO Stadium.
Canberra Raiders by 1-12 points
Wests Tigers vs Penrith Panthers
Sunday, 8 June – 4:05pm AEST – CommBank Stadium, Sydney
Jarome Luai may be fired up for a big one against his former club, but the Panthers‘ clinical system and defensive resilience will be too much for a Wests Tigers outfit still reeling from narrow losses and off-field distractions. Penrith should grind them down late in the game.
Penrith Panthers by 13+ points
Canterbury Bulldogs vs Parramatta Eels
Monday, 9 June – 4pm AEST – Accor Stadium, Sydney
Lachie Galvin’s possible Bulldogs debut and the return of key players like Stephen Crichton and Jacob Kiraz sets the tone for a King’s Birthday showdown oozing emotion and storylines. Parramatta are much improved with Mitch Moses and Dylan Brown guiding the ship, but the Dogs’ depth and their form at Accor Stadium make them hard to beat.
Canterbury Bulldogs by 13+ points
