NRL Round 1 team lists: Luai, Hunt, Lomax set for club debuts

NRL teams are up for the remaining games in Round 1, and there will be several familiar faces making fresh starts with new clubs.

Ben Hunt lines up in his first game for the Broncos on Thursday night in Sydney, while the Roosters have Chad Townsend making his club debut at halfback.

Former Panthers star Jarome Luai leads the Wests Tigers in their clash with the Newcastle Knights in Campbelltown on Friday night, and Kulikefu Finefeuiaki is named to start in the second row for the Dolphins against the Rabbitohs in Brisbane.

Clint Gutherson, Damien Cook and Lachlan Ilias form a new-look spine for the St George Illawarra Dragons, who take on the Canterbury Bulldogs at Kogarah Oval on Saturday afternoon.

Later in the evening, English second-rower John Bateman makes his NRL return with the North Queensland Cowboys as they travel to Brookvale to take on the Manly Sea Eagles.

In Sunday’s closer, star recruit Zac Lomax is set to start for the Parramatta Eels as they head to Melbourne for a tough clash with the Storm at AAMI Park.
