NRL Multi specials, free tips, Round 19 bonuses & value odds
THE State of Origin period is finally completed, which means round 19 will be the final week of shortened weekends of footy.
The Melbourne Storm get a reprieve from having to play their big three on the short turn around, but there is no such luck for the Cowboys or the Broncos, who have to front up days after Queensland clinched the Origin series.
We are coming to the latter stages of the regular season, which means teams are fighting for their post-season lives. Buckle in, we are in for one hell of a ride.
Selections for the Round 19 NRL multi of the week:
Canberra Raiders to beat St George Illawarra Dragons ($1.50)
Brisbane Broncos to win against the Newcastle Knights ($1.28)
Cronulla Sharks to beat the Gold Coast Titans ($1.60)
South Sydney Rabbitohs to win against the North Queensland Cowboys ($2.30)
Combined multi value: $7.06 @ Crownbet.com.au
Canberra Raiders vs. St George Illawarra Dragons
Friday, July 14 from 7.50 pm AEST, GIO Stadium, Canberra
Two of the surprise packets from season 2017 for very different reasons lock horns on Friday night in the nation’s capital as the Raiders host the Dragons.
The fall from grace has been baffling from the Raiders who made last year’s preliminary final, but the current occupants of 11th spot on the NRL ladder have just enough time to make a late charge.
The Dragons conversely are more than likely going to play finals given they need just three more wins to reach the 28-point mark most think is needed to make the eight. They have stumbled badly mid-season however, and will be without playmaker Josh Dugan after he played for the Blues on Wednesday night.
We are backing the Green Machine to get the job done here and get the NRL multi ball rolling.
Canberra Raiders to win – $1.50
Newcastle Knights vs. Brisbane Broncos
Saturday, July 14 from 5.30 pm AEST, McDonald Jones Stadium, Gold Coast
The Origin-depleted Broncos travel down the NSW coastline to face arguably the worst team currently running around in the NRL in the form of the Knights.
Brisbane might have a host of players returning for this clash, but the most important player for the Queenslanders is million dollar man Anthony Milford. The superstar playmaker adds an extra dimension to a team that already possesses a plethora of attacking options.
The Knights comparatively welcome back their gun player in the form of Dane Gagai following his Man of the Series heroics against the Blues. Will the short turn around impact him negatively, or can the star bring that form into the club realm?
While we respect Gagai’s ability, the Broncos should be far too strong here. It looks like Wayne Bennett’s return to Newcastle will yield yet another win for the mastercoach.
Brisbane Broncos to win – $1.28
Gold Coast Titans vs. Cronulla Sharks
Saturday, July 15 from 7.30 pm AEST, CBUS Super Stadium, Gold Coast
The third leg of our multi sees the reigning premiers traveling north to face the erratic Titans on their home deck.
The teams have played some absolute epics over the years and the impartial fans will be hoping for another classic fixture on the sunshine state.
The Sharks head north hoping to reaffirm their premiership credentials after their bye week. Before that Cronulla hammered the Roosters and subsequently firmed into at +500 at CrownBet.com.au for the 2017 premiership.
The Titans face an uphill battle just to make the finals this year given they currently sit four wins adrift of the eighth placed Eels.
This one looks pretty cut and dry to us. The Sharks should keep us rolling into the final leg.
Cronulla Sharks to win – $1.60
South Sydney Rabbitohs vs. North Queensland Cowboys
Sunday, July 16 from 4 pm AEST, Barlow Park, Cairns
It is a game on Cairns that the home side simply needs to win if they are to make an unlikely push towards the finals.
The Rabbits are four wins back from a place in the eight, but their recent football suggests they are capable of a late charge if all the chips fall into place.
The Cowboys will be a formidable foe however. Fresh off their bye, North Queensland also welcome back a number of origin stars for this match.
Never underestimate a Souths team with their backs against the wall however.
If the Bunnies were ever going to knock off the Cowboys it will be this week. They need to win, North Queensland are Origin impacted and they are in quality form.
We are backing the Rabbits to round us out in winning style.
South Sydney Rabbitohs to win – $2.30
