NRL Judiciary Report: Roosters lose Spencer Leniu for two games
The Sydney Roosters will be without star prop Spencer Leniu for the first two rounds of the 2025 NRL season due to suspension.
The New South Wales representative has been hit with a two-match ban for a careless high tackle on Newcastle’s Phoenix Crossland in preseason play last Sunday.
It means Leniu will have to sit out Sydney’s March 6 clash with the Brisbane Broncos, who are now $1.45 favourites in head-to-head betting at Marantelli Bet.
Elsewhere, the Canterbury Bulldogs will have to make do without Josh Curran after the forward accepted a one-match ban for a careless high tackle on Brisbane’s Jack Gosiewski last Saturday.
As such, he will not be available for the Doggies’ date with the St George Illawarra Dragons on March 8, yet NRL betting sites still have Canterbury slated as $1.55 favourites for that contest.
It is a similar story for South Sydney Rabbitohs halfback Lewis Dodd, who was cited for high contact on Dragons winger Sione Katoa last Saturday.
He won’t be in the mix for their season opener against the Dolphins on March 7, with the Bunnies pegged as $2.49 outsiders with Marantelli Bet.
Canterbury’s Max King, Penrith’s Riley Wake and Wests Tigers’ Kit Laulilii have all accepted $1,000 fines with early pleas for first offences.
