Can the ravaged West Coast Eagles steal a win away from home this Sunday afternoon when they travel to Marvel Stadium to face the North Melbourne Kangaroos in the 2022 AFL Premiership?
Five Eagles will stay grounded in WA this weekend due to COVID protocols, including Tom Barrass, Josh Kennedy, Jack Redden, Zac Langdon and Isaiah Windler.
Luke Shuey, Tim Kelly, Jack Darling, Liam Ryan and a few others will give the Eagles a much-needed boost, but the team is still being pushed to its limits early in the season.
David Noble has made a bold move at the selection table this week after dropping Jaidyn Stephenson, while defensive pillar Ben McKay will remain sidelined with concussion.
This will only be the third match between the West Coast Eagles and North Melbourne Kangaroos at Marvel Stadium since 2010, as the Eagles rarely play games in Victoria away from the MCG.
A handful of North Melbourne players will be under the pump to perform this week after a slow start to the year, especially their forwards after they posted the lowest round one score.
Cameron Zurhaar and Nick Larkey are an excellent duo for the Roos, but Zurhaar was quite disappointing against the Hawks and finished the afternoon goalless. We think the tough forward will bounce back this week against the Eagles and have a big impact on the scoreboard.

Key matchup: Luke Davies-Uniacke vs Tim Kelly
Midfielders who can burst through stoppages and hit the scoreboard are worth their weight in gold, and Luke Davies-Uniacke is turning into one of those players. Tim Kelly will more than likely be tasked with playing on LDU throughout the day, as he can match him physically and on the outside.
Davies-Uniacke started his 2022 campaign with a 27-disposal effort that came with a team-high nine tackles, while this week’s match will be Kelly’s opening match of the season after just exiting protocols. Both players are capable of collecting a bunch of disposals and hitting the scoreboard, so keep them in mind when crafting you bets this weekend.
North Melbourne vs West Coast betting tips
North Melbourne 1-39
We were keen on the Roos before seeing the Eagles had five players in isolation, but now we are more confident the home side can snag a victory. Last year’s clash between these sides resulted in a 10-point win to the Kangaroos on the road at Optus Stadium, and they will be even stronger this weekend on their home deck.
North Melbourne by 1-39 points
Cameron Zurhaar to kick 2+ goals
Not only has Cameron Zurhaar kicked six goals in his last three matches against the Eagles, he could have kicked a huge bag against them last season. Zurhaar was very inaccurate in front of the big sticks and finished 2.6 on the evening, but it showcased his ability to expose the Eagles and create shots-on-goal. Zurhaar should straighten his kicking this week and slot a couple of majors.

North Melbourne Kangaroos vs West Coast Eagle same-game multi
Cameron Zurhaar has a great record against the Eagles and will shine again this Sunday, while LDU will back up his excellent round one performance and lead North Melbourne to victory.
North Melbourne 1-39 / Cameron Zurhaar 2+ goals / Luke Davies-Uniacke 25+ disposals
