No fear or favour’ in racing leak probe

A legal attempt is being made to quash a report by Racing Integrity Commissioner Sal Perna.
Victoria’s racing integrity commissioner Sal Perna acted without fear or favour in a serious investigation into a cobalt leak that was no “frolic”, a court has been told.

Former Racing Victoria chairman David Moodie wants a judge to overturn Perna’s “devastating” findings that he inappropriately disclosed information and misled the RV integrity council and board.
The Victorian Supreme Court has heard the commissioner went off on a “frolic” in his investigation, which Perna’s barrister Melinda Richards SC on Tuesday described as a completely unwarranted characterisation of what took place.
